2002 Wrangler X manual.
Have had intermittent P0301 code for some time but mostly ignored as it would clear on its own and Jeep was running great. That and switching spark plug c1->c2 and coil c1->c3 did not resolve or change code.

Was having long starting issues. Found fuel system not holding pressure so was turning key to on without pressing clutch to prime lines before starting. Got tired of this ritual so finally dropped gas tank and replaced fuel pump.

Jeep running great, starting great, and low and behold no more P0301. Come to find firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Never imagined Jeep would always start on cylinder 1 but maybe it does as P0301 was the only code thrown and it makes sense if it had low fuel when starting.

Hope this helps someone as I have received so much help here :)

Interesting... I've been chasing down codes P0300, P0301, and P0306. After last night's replacement of the TB and IACV, I'm down to just a P0301 code. I haven't noticed issues lately, however for awhile I was having some starting issues that seemed fuel related.

I guess I know what I need to check next!
