What's the general impression of AEV (American Expedition Vehicles)? My kid is asking and I don't know a ton about them.
I do have a trail buddy that bought a 392 max built JKU or such that was a SEMA, show rig. He wheels the snot out of it.

I’ve always heard good things, and they have a great reputation, but I have no personal experience.

Why are you asking? Considering going that route in some fashion?

Oh hell no! $$$$.

My daughter asked. Something to do with her job. She's works at U of Montana and doing some research on them. Seems they won a 'startup competition' at UM some years back that helped him get going. Says they still do design and engineering out of Missoula. She don't know Jeeps.. haha.

My buddy with the pumped up AEV 392 ain't afraid to beat his but riding with him I noticed the learning curve when trying to ease over rocks. Feathering the throttle was tricky.. lotsa torque. I haven't gone over all the details of that build with him. We have an overnighter planned so maybe I'll check it out closer then.
But then I have another buddy who wants to turbo his 4.0 (instead of a re-gear) and that makes no sense to me. Couldn't get a supercharger built in a timely manner.
