I thought I would put this to the forum before calling up Currie....

I am putting my 4" Currie lift on my LJ and see that the rear track bar relocation bracket provided is the CE-9121N - which is the "new" angled bracket. I was planning on using my stock track bar since the lift kit didn't include one. After some research on this forum, I see some people have had issues using the angled bracket on an LJ because we run straight drive shafts instead of a SYE. So I am a little confused why Currie would include the angled bracket in a lift kit spec'd specifically for an LJ. I also don't see the straight bracket (CE-9121) listed on their site anymore.

Any ideas if the angled bracket will work if I just adjust my upper arms to keep a 0 degree pinion angle? Or would I be better off getting their straight bracket or a track bar with a Johnny Joint?

The angled bracket is used when the rear axle needs to be rotated up to adjust the pinion angle to change the drive shaft angle, so the track bar won't bind. If you're not going to adjust the pinion angle, I would use an adjustable track bar with the stock bracket. You are going to need to use an adjustable track bar, as a 4" lift is definitely going to offset your axle to one side.

Here is what I heard back from Currie.

"No sir you have everything needed for that kit as we have designed it for. Let me know if you have any other questions."

So they are confirming the angled bracket will work with the stock track bar on a 4" lifted LJ. I'll let you know once I bolt it on how it works out!

The angled rear track bar bracket is only for when you have an aftermarket CV (aka double-cardan) rear driveshaft installed. I'm running that angled track bar bracket on the rear of my TJ since I have a CV rear driveshaft. It won't be easy to get the factory track bar reinstalled, that is for sure. My TJ came with a 4" Currie lift but with the OE track bar & it was a real bitch to get that thing reconnected each time, glad I was finally able to replace it with Currie's adjustable length track bar.

Ya I tend to trust you guys on the forum more than what support is saying. Pretty sure a rear Currie track bar is in my future. It was on my eventual upgrade list anyways but just a pain to get shipped to Canada. Thanks for the comments @Jerry Bransford & @glwood

Ugh. So I spoke with Currie today and unfortunately I didn't find the conversation helpful and am more confused. I was advised that Currie no longer make a straight bracket so the angled I have should work, I just need to pry and twist the track bar into place. When I told him I would rather just purchase a new trackbar that aligns better (ie. has a Johnny joint) he told me the CE-9210RS is the correct one. From the Currie manual I think he is wrong and I need the CE-9120R.

Any one have an idea? Maybe I should give Savvy a call?

The CE-9120RS trac bar is designed to be used with stock rearend housings or the CE-9121 trac bar relocation bracket or other aftermarket trac bar brackets that are available on the market.

The CE-9120R trac bar is designed to be used with new Currie rearend housings or the CE-9121N trac bar relocation bracket.

With your axle still being at its factory angle, since you're not running a CV driveshaft in the rear, I don't believe you need the Currie rear track bar bracket at all. I would go with a new track bar since your factory track bar is too short for a 4" lift. I agree with Currie's CE-9120RS recommendation since you have a stock axle and can use the stock mounts on both ends. https://www.currieenterprises.com/CE-9120RS
