You certainly have a point there - but there's ALWAYS something broken on a boat, and its ALWAYS expensive. I've been around enough of them to know.
The only time I had ANY trouble out of mine was when I let it sit for 10 years . Ethanol will totally destroy any fuel system that sits. A boat is no more expensive than a car if treated the same. Take your car and let it sit from say August until maybe June, don't put a battery maintainer on it, don't go start it and let it run just leave it sit there, treat it like your boat, if your boat sits out in the yard leave your car sit in the yard. It will be just as expensive to fix as your boat.
