Maybe I could have worded it better . The gap I’m talking about is not from installing an AntiRock but from removing the factory sway bar and it’s plastic cover .
The primary value is that the larger winch deck turns the bumper into a very large gusset that adds a considerable amount of strength to the frame.
Do you feel there’s a benefit to having your modified aftermarket steel bumper compared to the aluminum Savvy ?
For anyone buying, just be sure to get the hardcore upgrade. At least if you wheel moderately hard.
This may tell the story better on the warn. It has a lip at the back that covers the factory sway bar, so at least in the middle it doesn't really leave a gap. The savvy seems to cover at bit better right on top of the frame. The warn only uses the front sway bracket bolt hole.
Do you have link to the bracket that is shown for air. Like that much better than going through grill
Yeah, I plan on going to an antirock or swayloc soon and have no qualms about how it will look with the factory bar out of the picture.
Having the savvy would be nice being aluminum, so I wouldn't have to worry much about corrosion, and the weight would be nice, but with as short as the warn is and how well it braces together the frame, I'm not sure the weight is really that big of a deal. I've had it on and off a couple of times, with the winch on it, and it's not unmanageable for this 165 pound desk jockey. My biggest beef with it is that it uses a nut/bolt for the front license plate, which is almost inaccessible from behind with the bumper installed, so it's better to install the plate before mounting the bumper. I had planned to tack the nuts onto the inside of the bumper the next time I had occasion to remove it, but then I moved to a state that doesn't run front plates.
Maybe the front gap balances out the back crack?
