I do that all the time out of habit. I grew up on a farm and we stored work boots in the garage. The first time you put your foot into a boot with a mouse in it is the last.

I turn every shoe or boot over before I put it on. I don't even realize I'm doing it.

Same here. Back in 7th grade I took my shoes off after school and a big ol cockroach ran out. That thing was up in the toe area all f’n day.
