At my wits end with P0303 cylinder 3 misfire code

Before you go to the trouble and expense of pulling the head you might consider doing a thorough cleaning of the combustion chamber using Seafoam or equivalent chemical cleaner.
Recently had many occurrences with cylinder misfires. I used combustion chamber cleaner in the TB and combustion chamber; afterwards there was cloud of smoke which cleared in a few minutes. The misfires were all but gone.
