Hey everyone I just got my first Wrangler! It has the original Chrysler 6 cd changer which is great. However the radio only gets 3 stations. Somethings gotta be wrong with the antenna. I took the radio out tonight, and the connection seems fine. Maybe something is wrong with the antenna wire. Any help on this would be great. I want my station variety back!

Sorry Matty, I assume your wrangler is not a TJ and so, I (we) have no clue what is a 6 cd changer is :(
Most TJs are still in the CB civilian band era, and so, if you post this in the General Jeep Discussion and you will get more bites in there.

Nice looking LJ. I'm pretty sure none of them came with a 6 CD changer though. I checked an '04 sales brochure and found nothing. The only premium listed is the 7 speaker system (addition of 2 tweeters in the dash and a subwoofer in the console). Is it possible that a system was swapped in from a Grand Cherokee or some other MOPAR product?

Just a thought, but on both of my TJ's there is two points too the antenna. There is the connection at the back of the radio and there is a connection point behind the glove box. that's where I would start.

2005 and 2006 had options for the 6 disc cd players.

Mattyice, first off TB12 rules! If your antenna connection is in tact, can you confirm your antenna is OEM, long silver? Years back I bought a stubby black antenna and I only received a couple stations and ended up using the OEM antenna.

If you have the correct antenna it could be a bad connection, so you should check the leads from the head unit and antenna to ensure they are securely attached, and when they clip together, again, they are securely attached. Make sure the connections at the head unit and antenna are also connected. When someone removes the head unit they could pull the antenna cord causing a disconnect like this.

That's interesting. The OP's TJ is an '04 but there's often a change over period from one model year to the next so it's quite possible that his 6 CD changer IS original to the Jeep. I have an '03 & '04 and neither has it. My '03 does have what's listed in the brochures and on the build sheet as the "Premium Speaker System" and it is quite a bit nicer.

Make sure you have a solid ground connection from the unit to the body.

Oh boy, they chastrated me on this one :( out of my ignorance
I honestly did not know that TJ has a 6 CD changer.

(I am amazed) who needs 6 CDs on a TJ? oh come on !!!

Some may complain:
I have no storage for all the CDs are taking my space.
