Bad control arm bushing?

Been trying to chase down this faint groan/growl that happens every time I love from a stop and disappears as soon as i hit 2k rpms. At first I thought it might've been my leaky front differential, but it is still present even after repair.

Today I went under the truck to try and chase it down.

I noticed this, it looks like the bushing on the control arm(? The rod running from the frame to the axle) is a little beat up. Does it look like it needs to be replaced? Could that be causing the symptoms in experiencing?

I would think that a bad control arm bushing would make a clunk...not a growl. Growls generally mean bearings. Probably a wheel bearing...

Are your controll arms heim or Johnny joints?

There’s a good write up on this that I read this morning. Jerry Bransford explains it well and pretty much narrows it down to pinion angle from a lift. Suggested a TC drop to someone and they said it cured the problem if my short term memory is serving me well today.
