No...I lived in Fla a brief time and took it with me when I left.

After measuring it's 2.4 inches. Could possibly be mistaken for railroad ballast.

I’m currently running the Maxxis Razr. There are a lot of very good reviews out there, which is why I went with them at the end of last year after cutting one of my Krawlers. The Razr‘s have a pretty aggressive tread, but ride very well and quietly on the street. I very happy with them so far.

I have the Maxxis Razr to , 8000 miles amd so far so good. Not bad in the rain or wet highways. As far the mud goes they do really good.

On a serious note these
"best MT" questions always crack me up...

I swear tires are getting to be like guns, motor oil, and Ford vs. Chevy.
People are full blown warm and fuzzy about "their" brand of tire now and by God they'll fall right on the sword for it !!!!!

I sell them all and don't care what anyone thinks. I'll tell you like it is.

All terrain tires are only marginally better than All season tires. Yes I'm serious.

Bfg, maxxis, Cooper, general, blah blah blah all make mud tires and all perform on par with each other.

There is one clear cut far and away "best mud tire" brand in the business and it's made by Interco. Known to most as the Super Swamper.
I'm not talking about the Bogger although the forward traction is second to none but lateral traction is none existent...perhaps in FLA that is fine....

The TSL/SX and now SXII are absolutely positively the best Mud tires you can get.
Nothing slings the goo like a Swamper (it's all about cleaning) it has good lateral traction and a sidewall tread.
Speaking of sidewall this is probably the toughest sidewall in the tire world as well.
And YES, they work fine on the road too.
Are they loud on road? Yep. It's a Jeep though...if NVH is of the utmost concern I'm not quite sure why you're in a Jeep to begin with.

Hell even the Swamper Trxus MT out performs all of the second tier mud tires and has just as equal on road manners as the
Bfg's, maxxis,
cooper, general etc., etc. )

If you want a MT to just say you've got a "mud tire" then buy any of those second tier mud tires. They all perform equally.
They really do.

If you want the "best mud tire" you need to call the boys in Louisiana.

So im pretty new to all of this and im still learning so be patient with me lol. I bought a 2001 Jeep TJ about a year ago and iv'e been having tires problems for a while now (they are old tires that are pretty dry rotted from sitting) but ive had a couple bent rims which caused a small leak and also finding old nails/screws etc... penetrate my tire. All was good until I went out the other day and when climbing over a couple rocks and the entire sidewall of my tire ripped open. I was able to limp it back home on the spare which isnt the same size or width as the other tires. Currently im looking to upgrade all 4 tires because they are all old and dry rotted but have no idea which mud terrains are the best. Currently wanting to upgrade from 33s to 35x12.5R17s. If anyone has any suggestions id love to hear them.

My vote would be Good Year MT/R’s! You get the benefit of Kevlar side walls, an aggressive outer tread, and a smoother inner tread. Makes for a pretty decent ride when off the trail, and plenty aggressive on the trail. These tires also self clean well when in heavy mud. Just my opinion!

I’ll add another vote for MTR Ks. I ran them for a few years and they did great off-road and had decent road manners for a MT. With proper rotations, they wore really well too.

We could go into best rock crawling tire for trailer rigs, best DD MT, best for rocks, snow, etc.... Just depends what it's going to be used for, what size, and how much money you have.

If it's a trailer rig for rock crawling, get some stickies.

I've sold thousands of these things. When I say sell...I mean sell, mount/balance...road test if it's unknown to me and often times have the fortune of trying shit out on my own stuff.

Every brand not a swamper is splitting hairs.
Bfg, newer MTR's, (the old ones only available in 37 now was a great one) maxxis, cooper, kenda, and on and on all perform within the realm of equality. In other words they're better than an all terrain but right on par with each other.

The question was asked the best mud tire and the swamper is the tire by which all are measured by. They set the bar. Always have, always will. That TSL design and DOT approved is king.

*one old tire no longer with us that was damn near equal was the original buckshot mudder. NOT the maxxis version. The Gateway version.
Brought back to life now but only two small sizes. Good for a stock Willis perhaps.

How do those handle on the street, what kind of mileage do you get out of them? Mine isn't a DD, but I don't have a trailer and drive it to and from.
