I just replaced my blower motor back in March with the VDO/Continental motor from rock auto, and it has started exhibiting as strange behavior. When i first start the jeep in the morning, the blower wont turn on for anything. I tried varying fan speed, cycling the system on an off, cycling the jeep itself on an off, no effect, then after 10-15 minutes of driving around, it just suddenly starts, with no drama. subsequent starts throughout the day don't seem have the same problem. I'm thinking it cant be the fuse because it does work, it cant be the switch because it turns on eventually without touching the switch, and it cant be the resistor because it doesn't work on high speed either. I did try some percussive maintenance on it, also, no effect.

anyone have any ideas before i just buy another fan?

Check your resistor and climate controls. May be something heating up and making a proper connection afterwards.

i can check the switch i suppose, but the resistor is bypassed when in high speed, so i dont think it could be that

How did the connector for the motor look when you replaced the motor? No corrosion or melted areas?

Looked fine, no cause for concern. Old fan started exhibiting what i would describe as normal failure behavior. Got noisy, lower output etc. And seeing as it was the cheapest fan on Amazon 3 years ago, I wasn't surprised. But this time around I got the nice one.

Im going to try the power probe, see how that goes. But I ordered another fan and resistor just in case
