Broken shift linkage piece

Does anyone know the name of the piece and where to get one? Its the black plastic piece that goes onto the shift rod it looks like. Jeep is now stuck in park. Thanks

Can you just Replace the hole cable assembly. sombody like Napa might carry it if you need it in a hurry.

Not sure i have a 5 speed.
All my autos are column shift

You can also get them at NAPA. The Crown P/N for the bushing is 68137495AA for the 42RLE transmission. You can do temp repair using tie wrap. I have both on my at this time.

Yep I had to order a whole new cable. No auto parts stores here carry it and the dealer did not have it either. Found it online at some no name place. $77 bucks for that damn thing and a week to get here. FML. Jeep down untill then.

What 'black plastic part"?

See the round part that goes on the metal stud. Thats the black part. It can not be bought by itself FYI. The original plastic bushing went into that and snaps onto the stud.

I see. I assumed that was metal. Guess not. Hope the new cable fixes the problem.

Oh no that was a nice piece of brittle plastic cooked by the Florida heat. I had to order a whole new cable from some no name company because no one carries it. Gonna take a week to get here.
