Bumper tow hook tap size

Is 1/2 13NC the correct tap for the front bumper tow hook/bumper bolts? One of mine is stripped out and don't want to reweld it.

Edit:Stripped is incorrect word. It is not stripped the threads are just a bit damaged on one side

1/2-13 is the correct thread size, but if it's a stripped thread, trying to rethread the same size won't work, you'd have to go bigger than what it was

The the threads are just a little chewed up not stripped.

Thnaks. Taps are cheap. Worst case is it doesn't work I'll drill and tap to something cheaper.
