Car pics too cool not to share

I would take that Maverick over any Mustang (excluding the first version of the Shelby, of course). I've owned three Mavericks, and always thought that they had real potential. This one proves that, IMHO. And yes, I've owned some Mustangs: '65 coupe, '66 fastback (drove that one cross-country), and a '71 fastback. That gold Mav just checks all the boxes for me. (y)

I just remember Mavericks as being one of those cars that was ALWAYS in my way - sort of like a phucking Westphalia.

Slow down and smell the Roses... Fuck you wear a damn dress you should be smelling all the flowers you can.

Some Mavericks came with the I-6 and others had a V-8... So which ones were you trying to pass?

Smaller wheels and more tire would look better on that car.

Like many we see on here the wheel choices aren't what many of us would go to if we were buying them. I'm sure somehow somewhere these choices are what's trending NOW...

But I do agree with you

That big of a wheel, particularly the back, is just too big and makes that car look like a Hot Wheels car to me. I like a relatively large wheel sometimes, but there is a limit, and that one passed it.

Speaking of trending now, 24-28" wheels are common on the street here. That seems to be mostly a southern/southeast trend.

It was like the 25" + wheel craze for motorcycles here a few years ago. It just got completely stupid IMO at one point & the guys doing it would tell you that they rode & drove like SHIT....

I agree, and that being one of my all-time favorites, I'm inclined to think that image is either AI generated or a photoshop jobbie. Something's definitely off with that engine compartment shot...

Smaller wheel, more sidewall, better look, better ride. (y)

These AI generated pictures are getting harder and harder to tell. But yes I do agree that now looking at it more I think there is something off with that engine compartment.

I was going to say "rendering" it kind of reminds me of some of the ones Foose has done in the past... especially when you look at the wheels in the first image in the pic. They look hand drawn...

I'm almost 100% that's a real car. I'm pretty sure I saw it in Hot Rod a few years ago. Besides, it's to good of an image for AI.

Edit; Found it. Sold in '19 https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1966-CHEVROLET-NOVA-II-SS-CUSTOM-COUPE-224179

I don't doubt it's a real car but I stand by my comment about the first and second image in both Rick's post and your link...

The shading on the bumper among other things, screams this is a rendering... not an actual picture.

I'm partial to the '67 but I'd take a '66 in a pinch...but not with those feckin' wheels and weenies! :geek:

I'll be damned, that's twice now... :ROFLMAO:

Still something funky with that posted image though, I say. 🤨

Here's a clip of Nick Mason's 250 GTO being piloted around the Goodwood Circuit for the 2011 Revival by ex-F1 racer and F1 commentator Martin Brundle.

...and 15 250 GTO's at the following years Revival...
