Thanks. But I need room for the cooling fins to do there job. This is a 300 to 400 watt radio. Those fins get so hot you could get a blister if you touched them. Not that I'm going to be using it at full power all the time but it's a big radio Physically and power output wise.
I thought about putting it on the back of the center console between the two seats or above the windshield but I need to come up with some kind of a mounting bracket.

I hate to be an AH on CB radios that put out illegal amounts of power like that but, well, I will be. This is because of how many times CBs running illegal amounts of power have interfered with or sometimes even blocked my legal use of the CB band.
I get so pissed off when one of those goes on the air, they put out enough power to splatter across multiple CB channels and stop anyone from trying to legally use a channel even close to the channel the illegal transmitter is on. I have had to move 20 channels away from some CB users just to be able to use my CB.
The more power an AM transmitter puts out, the wider its signal. That's where the problem is with a CB with an illegal amount of power, its wider signal. CB channels are so close together that the power a transmitter can put out has to be limited so everyone can use all 40 channels. We had one local AH who would follow us up & down the CB band with his 300 watt CB linear amp so we couldn't talk anywhere.
The CB's narrow channel layout in the US is the reason CB AM transmitters in the US are limited to a max of 4 watts. And SSB is not much more than that at 12 watts PEP maximum power allowed. I'd chase anyone out of any group I was leading if they were trying to use a CB like that. Not to mention that radio is 100% illegal for use in the US, even if its power was turned down.
I run big power on my ham radios because it's legal and we're not restricted to channels. But when I'm using my CB, its 4 legal watts is plenty.
