Cell phone outages

Are your cell phones out? Cellular outage maps say most providers including T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, etc. have been having trouble making and receiving calls all day. My T-Mobile cell phone has been down since early this morning though it still has a data connection. It can only send/receive texts and emails.

Edit: Nevermind, it's back up after 12 hours.

I have AT&T and mines been working fine all day, no issues whatsoever.

Hmmm, maybe the Chinese are going to drop an EMP?

If it wasn't for Blackberry and their good customer service, I'd dump 'em.
 
The real-time outage maps indicated the problems were clustered in the dozen largest population areas around the US. Naturally my San Diego area was in one of those big clusters.

This is very interesting as the only common denominator between them is the fiber/copper feeding them. Never heard of such a thing.
