Just the rearward brace. Its held on by 9 bolts. Otherwise it'll be messy

This. Remove the flat head bolts from the center supporting brace and the 6 bolts to the frame. The entire skid will drop and the driveline bits will stay up. Win-win.

Remove the rear brace. Make a trough to funnel the fluid into the drain pan. Folded cardboard works.

I am dumbfounded. The only reason I would ever switch(from my POS UCF skid) to a savvy skid is because you can easily drop the skid without having to support the drivetrain.

The skid drops with the rear brace in place. The difference is the 6 bolts to the frame.

You can drop the skid and leave the crossmember behind to support the trans/tcase. But it's much faster to just remove the rear brace and funnel the fluid away.
