A 1 hour job. Changed out my radiator and now it gets hot before you get around the corner. Any suggestions? And yes, I changed out the thermostat.

how hot is “gets hot”? Is it overheating, or just warmer than before?

Did you purge all the air from the system so the coolant is full without air pockets?
Did you ensure the thermostat is installed in the correct orientation?

Did your thermostat have a bleed hole? Is it at the 12 o’clock position? Did you burp the system?

I agree the problem that you are describing is probably air trapped in the cooling system, but since you replaced the radiator; did you replace the radiator cap ?
I would check the condition of the radiator cap and ensure it is snugged down (stops of cap and radiator bung are touching).

I would say yes to all the above. The temp goes right up to max, 260+ I am going to start working on it again. I can not find the second cap that came with the radiator. I always look and I know better, but you never know. If that is the case, I won't tell anyone, ha ha.

It did not have a bleed hole in it. I looked up burping the system. I did not see a good way for the 4.o What is the best way?

Gets very hot in a few minutes. No hole in the thermostat. Can't figure out how to burp the air. made several runs hoping that the problem would go away.

Did you swap out the coolant temperature sensor? The reason I ask is that I recently experienced a similar issues and traced it back to a brand new but faulty sensor.

Now to get back to why the engine stalls when coming to a stop. I only get a chance to work on my daughter's TJ on the weekend.
