Compass trouble

Hey guys,

My compass/temp mirror display stopped working. It's an '03 Rubi.

It had been iffy, on/off and the scrambled character look once or twice for a few weeks now out completely, no display at all. Auto dim is glowing and map lights work OK.

Any thoughts on the fix? I searched and didn't see a solution. I believe someone here mentioned a solder issue is common?

Sounds stupid but mine was doing the same thing. I reached behind and I guess the plug was just loose. Plugged it in and now it works just fine

Anyone know if temp/compass mirrors from other Jeeps or other vehicles would be plug in replacements?
