Daily Driver, Go Where I Want To Build

@jjvw, I used to have my amp under my driver seat, until, one day, crossing the river in the Rubicon Springs (very deep that year), water came up over door sill and blew out my amp. I have since moved it under the steering wheel column. Not sure how much water crossings you do in CO, but just be mindful...

It's rare that water gets up to the door sills, but I have had wet feet a couple times.

These are marine amps, if that matters. I don't know if they will survive a sinking boat or just a good splash.

I started looking at NHRA approved fire extinguisher mounts and found this AllStar mount. I like that it is even more reductionist and lower profile than the Drake is.

Thinking about both the AllStar and Drake, it seems like either would be best mounted with the extinguisher above rather than projecting out horizontally. Which means, if either goes in front of the seat, I should attach the mount to the floor.

That thing looks like it would rattle like crazy although you could fix that.

I ran out of the Polyken high temp wiring harness tape I got from Blaine. The two rolls I found on eBay are larger than I remember. This may be a lifetime supply for me!

If you are considering just wrapping a few wires together as a way to clean up a little harness with that stuff, only do so if you never plan to separate the wires again. I was not aware that stuff pretty much self fuses into a solid black coating when wrapped over itself. One would not pick up on that trait just using it on split loom. I won't make that mistake again.

I got that sense after going back into a few looms. It doesn't like to unwrap even after a couple weeks.

Passenger side sliders are extended to match the driver's. And both sides have a fresh coat of satin black.

And the longer RCA cables are routed and plugged in. So I have a working sub again!

We would ask if we cared, we don't.

I figured that out a long time ago. I thought people cared about my shit. Then I realized they don’t give a shit, but I give a shit and that made me like the people here more.
