Denial of Service Attack on U.S. Cellphone Carriers?

I picked up my T-Mobile personal cell on the way home to call the wife (shared plan) but the call wouldn't go through, just dead air. Tried a few times. Then I used my Verizon work phone & got a robot saying the call couldn't be completed. Then I tried calling my personal cell and it said the same thing. Tried calling T-Mobile customer service and it just rang. I tried calling the local T-Mobile service & no one picked up there either. I googled the T-mobile web chat thing and the first thing that popped up was this:

Not sure why someone would do this, or if it even is a denial of service attack? I know the Sun is just short of a complete tabloid, I wonder what the deal is.

T Mobil stated it was their routing system causing the issues.

Has not affected my phone on Cricket wireless.

Same here.. last night and normal Conf Calls this morning with ATT, no problems.

I had issues with att here in Los Angeles. No phone calls were going through.
