Differences between these Rancho RS5000X and Fox shocks?

There (may) be a slight valving difference between the two just to deal with the much higher GVW that the 1 ton has over the 1/2 ton, but I would doubt it would be more than 1 'click' of the shock difference. If you run your 1 ton empty then maybe get the other shock. Same if you run your 1/2 ton always loaded up. That's just me, tho.

ok so with several phone call to FOX, Rancho, Poly Performance, and a couple more. I still havent decided/ BUT I actually changed one of the continders to the 9000xl adjustable . If you want to take a look here are the part numbers
RS999047A- Rancho
985-24-006 - FOX
Ive learned the ends that connect to the shock mounts are the first thing you look for then the size.

Didn't Currey stop custom tuning Fox 2.0 shocks because Fox began making them with an equivalent tune on the Currey Custom Fox 2.0?? If that is the case are they still initially stiff which is a common complaint for Gas shocks??

Is the tunable feature of the Rancho 9000 worth the money?? I've got a bad back and don't want a jerky suspension. Tuning the shock to match my back might be an advantage. Would be nice to get the Fox tunable shocks but they cost nearly as much as a regear which I will need more with my auto trans.
