Replaced my engine with a re-manned ATK. Previously I could remove my oil filter with a little tweak from an oil filter wrench and it came right off.
I replaced the filter at 250 and also 500 miles and each time a Mopar filter was used and each time it was just snugged down by hand. When it came time to remove it was as if it was welded on. The filter was destroyed by the filter wrench in the process. You could see the filter move with enough pressure applied but that O ring took an amazing amount of torque to break free.
I made sure the mating surface was clean and smooth and that the gasket was coated in oil.
Any ideas on why this thing is binding so bad?
