1999 TJ (SE) here. I know this has been covered, but there seems to be a lot of differing opinions on it. I am planning on getting a 2" lift (BDS most likely), and I want to make sure I have everything I need, since I'll be installing it myself. I don't want to go through the trouble of tearing it apart and then having to pull it apart again later. With a 2" lift, do you think I will need a spacer up front? It seems there are people who needed a .75 inch spacer, but maybe some who didn't. I am not sure (yet) if I will install a winch, which would add weight to the front.

Some folks do it to help reduce the front end rake. 2" springs are very easy to remove and re-install. Get yourself a set of 1" spacers, aluminum, and have them ready when doing the install. In most cases, that amount of spacer will help and not hurt. If it doesn't, it only takes a few minutes to remove.
