I just had to use a medium blunt Phillips Only turned slightly but did the trick! Thanks again.
Does anyone know a fix for wobbly mirrors?

might be a dumb question but do they swing out ? i see a big nut on the bottom of the arm and loosened it hoping to move them out further, but they wouldn't move. wondering if they might be splined or keyed or i just need to loosen it more . only adjustments i've found are the screws on the mirror itself, nothing on the bracket
I found some aftermarket ones for my half doors pretty cheap also..look stock. Surprised me
On my 98 there are three mirror positions. At the furthest out/forward I am not sure you would be able to see passengers side mirror. The “in” position is essentially to the window. They do require some effort to move.
The aftermarket ones I have bought looked pretty good at a glance but after installing them, the glass appears wavy and it's kind of annoying. That's true two for two different aftermarket sets.
I saved my factory ones which work fine but the powder coat is flaking off badly. I plan to have them recoated. Not a fan of the way the newer style looks.

I just replaced mine with the Quadratecs the driverside mirror vibrates and the passenger side slowly drops down after a few trips to work...
Later model TJ mirrors are the way to go. I had the same issue...no amount of adjusting or tightening would keep them in place. Luckily, the previous owner gave me a set of full doors with the purchase that were from a later model so I was able to swap out. I'd keep an eye out for a part out jeep - you may be able to find a set for a reasonable price
