Does this look right?

At this point what problem are you wanting to solve? It seems like the “issue” is that it you just don’t like the looks of the ACOS with these springs?

I’d probably drop that system if it were me and just get a good set of coils. And build around the 37s if that’s what you want to run. Or 35s which are pretty capable. If you want to go with 37s find the builds here that are doing it, there’s a few that are really taking the time to do it right.

Ha..funny. I guess go big or go home?
There's nothing stock about this rig and whether you love it or hate it doesn't bother me. It was my first jeep and honestly, it's been fun to learn since I started it well over a decade ago. A lot of the work was favors called in from the shops I work with. Most of which all came with their suggestions on how to spend more money. I've seen a lot bigger (and better built) on the trails but this one is still fun and capable. I'm not gonna change the configuration or go to coils here. Still would like to know if you have ideas on that back spring cause the look is bugging me...was thinking of getting the 6" lift springs from MC which are only 20.5" (1/2 longer than the 4.5" lift spring I have) but theoretically stiffer and wouldn't have to be compressed down so far by the Acos to get the ride height I'm after or support the weight I'm carrying. Or, going back to the stiffer 16" RE spring which I really didn't like and calling it a day.

Write a book ...ha. I'm an auto dealer in California which is probably why I write so damn much (sorry for the long posts). I buy and sell modified jeeps regularly to the public where most other reputable dealers won't take the risk. It requires about 16 pages of disclosure in this state to stay out of trouble when selling any kind of modified vehicle. This will get me some criticism but sometimes I just have to say no to customers that want to buy these things but don't get the risk. This TJ with all its accessories sits in the showroom all shined up and helps to sell a lot of the others that don't have so much stuff on them. It's probably paid for itself several times over. Lot's of people in our area want the look and the name brand accessories but don't understand the risk...Just because you can drive it on the street doesn't always mean you should. I have modified Yj's, Cj's, Land Cruisers, and many others. Spring over, spring under, coil overs, blah blah blah and an assortment of JK/Gladiator mall crawlers etc...Most of the customers that buy them couldn't hold a candle to what you guys (all the forums) know which is why I value your opinions so much...even when they are poking fun at me ...anybody know where to get Gravedigger decals 💀

You’re on coils, I assume you’re confusing coil overs? My thought was get good springs (aka coils) like the Currie 4”.

What didn’t you like about them? Springs set ride height, they don’t dictate much (if anything perceptible) in terms of ride quality. If it was set up as you liked, I’d run them and look at your shocks which would be the thing dictating the feel. You’ll feel pretty much the same issues you had before on these springs, or curries, or jks, etc.

I wanna know how the ACOS is increasing the compression on the springs.

you kinda isolated yourself up that tall, and most don't go to those extremes without quite a few other mods to avoid the excessive lift heights.

your choices are few.......but if you have a spring you think will hold the height you need, use it.

Yes, I thought you meant coil overs. As Jerry put it, I bought into the MC sales pitch that these springs could help stabilize the on road ride quality a bit...thats mostly what I was after. The MC sales pitch made sense to me so was hoping to alleviate some of the sway from the large lift through the compressed coils at the top of the MC spring. I have friends with Jk's that also claimed a better ride quality with these springs.

Springs don't do that. That is the job of the shocks and the sway bars.

However, if the bind height of the springs along with the spacer reduces up travel, then I suppose that would amount to some reduction of sway.

The Acos is not adding compression...my bad. If I didn't adjust the Acos down a little over two inches in the back the weight of the vehicle lowers the ass end by two inches compared to the front even though they are both 4.5" lift springs.

You should consider using the quote features of this site, the thread is becoming harder to follow!

It doesn't matter what the advertised lift height is. Metalcloak didn't arrive at those heights on your Jeep. Those springs are giving your rig 5.5" up front and 4" in the back. It is what it is. Then add in whatever the ACOS is doing.

Your front is really high. Your rear is a bit low. And the front ACOS is making things needlessly difficult.

Agreed...and for the record the advice here has been great as usual so thanks to all for taking the time. I still have some weight to add to this thing and maybe even get rid of some of the weight that is existing (especially in the back)...then there's always the trailer thing that screws with my head. I think I'm gonna load it up with the anticipated weight factor including two occupants and see what kind of movement I get. If it's minimal, I'll keep the rear (4.5") springs in the back and replace the front springs with the 3" advertised lift version of the MC springs so the style at least matches. That way I can undo the adjustment in the back to put the top of the spring up near the frame and lower my overall ride height with hopefully not too many adjustments. Seems like a good compromise and lowers my center of gravity cause I don't need that much lift even with the larger tires. The Acos still gives me the option to adjust a little here and there if I need it without making extreme adjustments like the one that is in place now. This will probably add to the sway bar link issue which was identified here so I will address that as well. I have nearly 10" of space between the top of the tire and the bottom of the OEM plastic fenders...it's way more than I need, even with the trailer.

You know what other style looks good... Literally any other damn spring that doesn't have 4" of wasted space on the top for no damn reason.

I mostly think where they’re advertised - it’s just a sign of the social media generation. Make it look good, nothing else matters. :(
I wish I could say I'm not sorta guilty of this...In addition to my desire to make this jeep capable, its a sales tool and never stops working. Everything including the name and profile pic on this post is used to help sell product. It lives in a showroom most of the time. I'll admit I made some poor decisions but matching or keeping the MC springs, the Acos and lot of the other stuff that weighs this thing down so much is kind of a necessary evil for part of the role this Jeep plays. I'll probably change these parts out in a year for whatever else becomes popular. I just ordered some custom low profile Pro-Tech toolboxes for the roof rack at a cost of $2k. I would never have done that except that I know somebody is gonna walk in the showroom and say "I gotta have those on my jeep". Hey..it helps pay the bills and I get to learn and have fun with it. Jeep accessories (and I have seen some real crap) is a billion dollar industry and I try to capitalize on it. It's kinda funny cause when we get our hands on well built and capable jeeps with high end off road parts they often don't get as much attention as the Jeeps that are loaded up with shitty accessories and power running boards....go figure.
