Breaking trail like that is tons of fun. Keep it in 4lo though. Do keep an eye on temps since the snow causes lots of drag and will block and insulate a radiator instead of cooling. For that reason I've considered replacing the rear window with coolers.

Ya that’s how vehicle weight distribution works...

Simple googling will show some we’re right around 50/50 and SE (like op has) being lighter up front than rear by some scales.


Do m3’s have two engines? Miatas? Corvettes? Well the vette’s have a rear transaxle but you get the point.

You are correct about them being pretty balanced.
I tend to think of my LJ as more of a 'pickup' body style, like my old Scrambler.

I do remember, like 30+ years ago, putting some sand tubes in my 79 CJ5. Don't know if it helped, but that's what people did.

Fluffy easy snow. But those two are one tree well, bank slide, or temperature change away from either needing rescue or earning a Darwin award.

So @Zedd how was the trip? I'm curious how things worked out on your first Jeep excursion? Were you going skiing/snowbording at Timberline or just off-roading somewhere along the way?
