Facebook is great when applied to the real world. It has steered me towards so many great events, gatherings, adventures, and dates.
Once upon a time I did, until I realized how toxic Facebook is, and how it's systematically destroying people's social lives and the internet as a whole. Now I won't touch it and never will again. I'm 110% done with any form of social media.
I am very, very passionate about how strongly I dislike Facebook.
Well then, I guess a lot of people won't see your FB posts.All of our runs are organized through our FB group. It's the easiest way to post up run info for everyone to see. We also all post our pics up after the runs.

Aren’t you the admin of five Jeep owner groups?
Was, not anymore. Well, not technically. When I deleted all the content from my FB profile, I had to keep the bare bones FB profile laying around because someone offered to take over those groups for me and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I'm waiting for them to come through so I can transfer over ownership of the groups to them.
@Serbonze man that sucks
I have a friend who has a youtube channel and does vlog with it. Recently someone started copying his videos and posting them on their own channel as if it was their own video.
Nice!
Is there any way to monetize that?
Someone replied recently that they 'liked' one of my posts, just so they could get the satisfaction of unliking it...![]()
I don't have a Facebook, but my fiance does and sometimes I watch her scroll through her stuff and it really is mind numbing. It is a very self absorbed platform, so it's not hard to believe that getting a ton of typical users together will end in "only I can be right" and "muh feelings".
100% agree. I ask my fiance that every day. I don't think Facebook users really understand how much subliminal/subconscious negativity and depression they actually suffer from due to the platform. I had a Myspace back in the day like every other kid and I made a Facebook the year it was publicly available. Four or five years later (before it even got really bad) I just couldn't manage the weight on my shoulders. I just felt a lump in my mind when it came to those sites and nothing made more sense than to get rid of that lump altogether.My wife still has it and I urge her to get rid of it. I pay attention to the stuff she has on her feed and the groups she belongs to... It's all, literally just stupid, mind numbing, b.s.
I made a comment to her once as nicely as possible, and I said, "Imagine what you could be doing if you weren't wasting all that time on Facebook focusing on these nonsense Buzzfeed articles and other useless information.".
I'm not saying there couldn't be anything useful on Facebook, but mostly it's just people ranting about politics, sharing status updates no one cares about, complaining about who harassed who, and posting memes we've all seen a thousand times by now.

I've never regretted it and I'm never going back.
