After more than 13 years of ownership, I've decided it's time for someone else to enjoy this Jeep.

Mileage: 74,950

Clean Massachusetts title.

Complete documentation, including the CARFAX report, is available for review.

I purchased this Flame Red 2006 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon in Texas in May 2013 with 15,522 miles on the odometer. During my ownership, it has been a fair-weather recreational vehicle only—never a daily driver, never rock crawled, never mudded, never driven through deep water, and never driven in winter. It has always been stored indoors in a heated garage.

Finding an LJ Rubicon that's still largely original, exceptionally well preserved, well documented, and owned long-term has become increasingly difficult. Throughout my ownership, the goal has been preservation rather than modification, and I believe the Jeep reflects that philosophy.

Highlights

  • 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (LJ)
  • 4.0L Inline-6
  • Automatic transmission
  • Rust-free frame and undercarriage
  • Flame Red with black interior
  • Factory Dana 44 axles
  • Factory lockers
  • Rock-Trac 4:1 transfer case
  • Factory air conditioning
  • Clean title
  • Always garage kept
  • Non-smoker
  • Original engine, transmission, and drivetrain

Documentation Included

This Jeep comes with an unusually complete history, including:
  • Original window sticker
  • Original owner's manuals
  • Service records
  • Maintenance history
  • CARFAX report
  • Original purchase documentation
  • Multiple keys and remotes
  • Hood repair documentation
  • Extensive photo documentation

Condition

Mechanically, the Jeep runs and drives exceptionally well. Everything works as expected, including four-wheel drive, lockers, air conditioning, lighting, gauges, and accessories.

The frame and undercarriage remain exceptionally clean and original.

The interior reflects careful ownership with minimal wear.

Cosmetic Hood Repair

In the interest of complete transparency:

A garage door contacted the hood during my ownership. The repair was limited entirely to the hood and consisted of cosmetic bodywork and repainting. There was:
  • No collision
  • No frame damage
  • No structural damage
  • No mechanical damage
  • No suspension damage
  • No insurance claim
The repair was professionally completed, and all supporting documentation will be provided.

Included with the Sale

  • Original factory 16-inch Rubicon Moab wheel set (five wheels, removed from the Jeep and stored in 2009)
  • Additional wheel/tire set
  • Original intake components

Accessories & Upgrades

The Jeep remains largely original and has been enhanced with a limited number of quality, functional upgrades:
  • Tuffy Security locking center console
  • Bestop InstaTrunk security enclosure
  • Aftermarket stereo with upgraded speakers and Alpine powered subwoofer
  • Rock sliders / rocker protection
  • K&N FIPK Generation II cold-air intake (original factory intake included)
  • Aftermarket shocks
  • Viper 350 Responder security system with remote start
  • Aftermarket wheel and tire package

Note on Condition

Like any 20-year-old Jeep, it isn't perfect. I've tried to photograph and document the Jeep honestly and completely. I'm happy to provide close-up photos of any area a prospective buyer would like to inspect. I want the next owner to know exactly what they're buying.

Why I'm Selling

Simply downsizing the collection and making room for other priorities.

Photos

I've assembled more than 150 high-resolution photographs covering:
  • Exterior
  • Interior
  • Engine compartment
  • Undercarriage
  • Frame
  • Suspension
  • Drivetrain
  • Documentation
  • Accessories
I'm happy to provide additional photos or videos of any area you'd like to see.

I recognize this is not the least expensive LJ Rubicon on the market, nor is it intended to be. It is priced to reflect its originality, condition, documentation, long-term ownership, and preservation.

If you're looking for a highly modified trail Jeep, this probably isn't the right vehicle.

If you're looking for one of the cleaner, more original, and better-documented LJ Rubicons available, I'd be happy to answer questions, provide additional photos or videos, or speak by phone with serious buyers.

Still available. I thought I'd add a few detailed undercarriage photos for anyone evaluating the Jeep. During my ownership, it was never driven in winter, has always been stored indoors, and the exceptionally clean frame and undercarriage reflect that history. I'm happy to answer any questions or provide additional photos if helpful.

Adding a couple of images showing the original dealer window sticker and the manuals that accompany the Jeep. I’ve retained extensive ownership and service records from my 13 years of ownership. The Jeep remains available, and I’m happy to provide the complete documentation to a seriously interested buyer.

Great ad. Although I am not in the market for an LJ (already have one), I've saved this listing as an example to follow when its time to sell mine.

Don't let the naysayers and cheapwads dissuade you.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate that. I’ve tried to present the Jeep as thoroughly and accurately as possible, so it means a lot that you would save the listing as an example. I’m comfortable being patient and waiting for the right person who appreciates what it is.

You're probably going to have better luck with this on a site like bring a trailer or cars and bids. GLWTS
Thank you, I appreciate the suggestion and the good wishes. I’ve explored BaT and may revisit that option, but for now I wanted to give the TJ Forum community the first opportunity.

Thank you! No hardtop, just the original factory soft top, which is still in very good condition. I also noticed your Folds of Honor link. It’s always great to find someone who shares an appreciation for both Jeeps and a very worthwhile cause!
