Grab handles

What are you guys using for grab handles to get in and out of your TJ?

These ones are cheap as hell, but I'm going on 2.5 years of using them and have no complaints at all. They work like a charm!

Grab handles are simple, but I'm just curious to see what else is out there and how they look on your TJs!

I made my own out of paracord for my last jeep. The current ones I have are paracord ones I purchased because I was lazy.

I made mine from scratch from Paracord. I actually started a mini business in my hometown selling them, I can make 2 sets for $20 and sell them for $50 a pair

I have these and they are legit man, you unbolt the roll-bars that touch the windshield frame, slide this in place, and they use the existing bolts to lock in. There is nothing better out there than these, plus they are made in the PNW...

I've been watching these for a while. Do they get in your way when you're driving at all? I mean from a visual perspective and blocking your view?

I'm probably going to switch to these, I've had bad luck with the velcro type, always parting at the stitching. I'm on my third set in 1 year. But it may be my fat a$$ pulling too hard on them.

My velcro ones have been holding up for years now with no signs of any wear or tearing at the seems. I figured they would, but for what I paid of them, even if they had, I wouldn't feel that bad. I mean they're so friggin' cheap!

I'm pleasantly surprised.

Visually, they line up with the A pillar. While you are driving, they do not block any view front or side. Wouldn't use anything else.

Oh not at all. They live tight up against the windshield frame, and that handle is bomber.

Actually I don't have the installation sheet anymore but there was one more step needed to take if you have a '04-'06 TJ due to some plastic trim or something that may be in the mounting area. I'm not 100% sure because I have a '00 and I don't have that in mine. I think it was something like needing a small hole saw drill bit and to drill through some trim. (Just an fyi if considering).

The GraBars come with a template for marking the trim panel on '30-06 TJs for a hole to be put for the bar. It's a little vague on exactly where the measurement starts, but it's sort of intuitive anyway; if anyone does this and wants better info, I can give you an exact measurement from my trim panel...

EJD is right on earlier TJs - it's a matter of removing two bolts, sliding the handle in, replacing the bolts. 2 minute operation per side...

I have the el cheapo Smitty Velcro ones on the passenger side for my wife to use, but those Grabars are nifty and might give her a better angle to grab to. Damn you Amazon wish list!

I love my Grabars. I have the roll bar Velcro handles in the middle of the door. The Grabars are soooo much more functional. I think they are in a more natural position to actually assist in keeping your ass in the seat.
