H13 quartz bulbs to LED replacement bulbs

Guys,

Thinking of changing out H13 quartz headlight bulbs to LED bulb replacements. It's a TJ, but I believe these headlights are from a JK. What's your experience, bulb/source recommendations please? These are just plug & play correct?

LED bulbs in halogen housings are worthless. They will spread light everywhere in a mostly unusable light pattern.

The proper way to do it would be to buy an actual LED headlight which has a housing that was designed specifically for LEDs.

Agree w Chris, ive had little luck w LED bulbs in in factory housings on a few vehicles, if you have to use factory housings I have had better results out of HID bulbs over LED unless you change the entire housing, LED bulbs in factory housings look brighter, but their beam broadcast isnt the best for the driver, and most likely makes oncoming drivers miserable, but that's just my experience.

I think your right, also goes for all these punks running LED light bars ( short or long) and fog lights typically bolted to 4x4s, have not looked in the book in awhile but last I knew all non OEM light sources legally have to be covered when on paved public roads.....

I recently left a note on a kids dodge 4x4 that's been running around w 3 of the 12" light bars going staring "you can either leave these illegal lights off, or i can tear them off your blinding everyone" i usually don't say much but this guy was killing everyone w these.

"Off Road" lighting rules vary by state and sometimes cities. Some require covers, some require that they a linked to the high beams, have placement requirements etc. The problem though is that many times law enforcement do not know what the regulations are so they don't do anything.
