Yes those went up,when I bought a passenger in 2020 they were 240.00 from jegsI had to buy one of these, the set I bought one was too rusty.but if you buy the key part doors you will never find all the internal parts to make em work.

but the $1000 that has become typical for a good set of OEM TJ half doors is just ludicrous
Somebody needs to talk Auto Metal Direct into doing two stampings...outer skin and inner structure.
Rods can be approximated.
I doubt separate skins and inners have been sold for these vehicles for a long time (if ever). Mating them together on the consumer's end isn't particularly cost effective and it's labor intensive. Did you have a particular reason for wanting the individual pressings?
Might do that one better than that. Not the first time I've seen someone talking about the rods. I'm seriously considering creating some dimensioned drawings of each rod when I gut the hardware out of the ratted out half doors I picked up last year. If I do, I'll get them posted here in the resources section. Might save someone some time and trouble if they want/need to fabricate their own.
The metal is already out there it’s those damned door cards that need to be made available.
The sooner you tell us about the virtues of that 3D scanner you got...
I'm kind of serious about trying to fab replacements from fiberglass, but I need to invest in a new workstation and a 3D scanner beforehand.
Definitely Hold out for real half doors, I Personally have full doors, half doors, and a set of fabric half doors. I wouldn't ever buy the fabric set as they don't really do much besides keep things from falling out, my dad has tube doors for his gladiator and they suck, and I can't speak for options like Genright, UCF, etc.
My set of full doors has been repainted twice to match both of my jeeps and probably have close to $1200 into them between repaints, new handles, etc. I would recommend trying to find a set that's complete (Not rusty) but rough enough to be cheap and get them repainted to match, the deals are out there, I Picked my set up for $120 after 2-3 years of looking.
I have not been able to find a shop that’s willing to paint just the doors.
I think it’s just a tinted topcoat that’s the difference between the colors.
These are a available in a junkyard near me... the scratches should buff out...

I don't think these were made for a TJ but that is what the seller is saying.

In rough shape & asking $450.... But with todays prices that isn't bad I guess...
Odd that you can't find a shop to paint the doors along. Maybe they are concerned about matching the color? The shop I use painted the doors alone and dyed the door cards. Color match is not perfect.. didn't expect it to be with quarter century old paint, but it's really good..Did a body shop do your repaint? I have not been able to find a shop that’s willing to paint just the doors. I paid out the ying yang for these and it’s close enough but not exact since Jeep never made half doors in my color.

I found some for under 300. What's a good price on just the doors, no mirrors and no soft uppers? Little bit of rust on the bottom of one and a couple of scratches. I'd need to replace the seal on one.
unless you want to buy something else for those doors.
I have an extra set of frames for soft uppers.300$ is a good price. You can just transfer over your full door mirrors unless you want to buy something else for those doors.
Soft uppers with frames aren't super cheap - but they're readily available new. I have Smittybilt ones and no complaints.
The last set I bought; I asked about rust on the bottom and the seller said there wasn't any.
Went to look at them, and there was rust on the bottom of one. Bought them anyway.
