Hard pop after turning

The red on the ears of the shaft wouldn't be of concern. If you see similar looking dust around the joint cap seal on the joint body that's a tell tale the joint is wasted. Ill usually move the wheel back and forth faster to look for play. I do the same when checking the steering components. Instead of a slow lock to lock, I will just turn the wheel between 10 o clock and 2 o'clock and look for movement.
Yeah no red dust by the caps

It looks like it does hit, but not bad or often.

Would the rear track bar be able to make that noise? I had someone else drive it while I sat in the passenger seat and it sounds like it’s coming from a completely different place. From driver seat sounds like passenger side front of the car and sometimes feel it in the floor board. From the passenger side you just hear it a little bit behind you.

Upper shock mount passenger side on my kids TJ was the culprit.
I could test that just by jumping on the bumper and hearing if it makes the noise right? Because I tried that no luck, can hear the shocks compress that’s all

Does it only when turning? Left or right or both? If you backup and turn does it do it? Slow speed only?sounds like differential or driveline. Can you get up to say 20 mph and bump the auto in neutral and turn? If it's a manny push the clutch in.

I can try throwing it in neutral it normally only does it when accelerating out of the turn. It’s on left and right turn but far more common on right. And it does it I would say every 1/5 turns. And every turn is a slow turn in a Jeep haha. But it only happens till I get up to about 30 mph after that I can turn and there’s no pop.

Check shocks and rear track bar clearance , and roll the Jeep and watch the control arm connections as someone slams the brakes. A bad control arm bushing is very likely.

I just changed the front upper and lower control arms (still need to get an alignment just trying to get this fixed first incase I have to do more suspension work) the rear upper control arms look a bit worn I just ordered new upper control arms, new rear track bar and new sway bars front and rear.

Installed the new rear track bar yesterday that did not fix the issue I’m doing the rear upper control arms today I’ll keep you updated.

New upper control arms are in the front and rear still making the noise sadly

Mine was making a very similar noise in the rear when I was in a turn going up or down a hill. After reading on here and checking the angle I ended up ordering adjustable end links. Some felt the angle (mine was 18 degrees) didn't matter and others did. I wanted the pop gone so I ordered them and IIRC I got the angle to 7 degrees. It hasn't done it since after ~2k miles.

I ordered some and have them put on ( the front end links only) also, not sure what angle but I can even drive with my sway bars (front and rear) disconnected and it still makes the noise

Back to my theory of it being a u joint in the front axle. I marked the caps and axle shafts with a paint pen going for a drive later to see if the caps move at all if they do that will show me a bad u joint. I don’t think it’s my spider gears because I’m it only does this noise 2-3 times after turning. Correct me if I’m wrong but if it was the spider gear I would think it would do that clunk on anything and everything no matter the speed ( because it only happens when I’m accelerating right now)

only other thing I can think of that it might be Is the shocks like someone said above. The rubber Grommets on the shocks slide around a little. ( I ordered the partsto fix this as well)

I also need to get an alignment after changing all the control arms. It’s a very slim chance that the alignment will fix it but I’ll see. Gonna have that done next week.
