Well it's picture day, spent the better part of the weekend making her pretty. Just shopping around for tires before she is officially on the road.

I think for now she is a keeper as it cleaned up nicely, and after the discussion about tires last week as much as I hate to trash tires with very low mileage I am not going to play around.
Good call man. Oregon is an amazing place to ride. There's so much back Country and roads to ride on. I ride whenever the weather is nice.
I was thinking of something like an older 650 Bonneville for her. It's not a heavy bike and it's ridden in the upright position. She does not like riding in the Cafe' style. She only weighs about 115 lbs so it has to be on the light side and she definately prefers the classic styling.
Yes, that's a good choice. She doesn't need 1200cc or anything, and a lighter bike would be good for her smaller weight.
I can't say I blame her when it comes to cafe style bikes. Those things are uncomfortable as sin to ride.

I love the look of the cafe-style racers, like the Triumph Thruxton. I'm in the market for a bike and took one of those for a spin, but really did not like the way it handled at all. Seemed clunky and heavy for its styling. Beautiful bike, but not much fun to ride...
Cafe racers in my experience do indeed handle clunky (though that can always be fixed). My biggest complaint though is that their riding position is absolutely dreadful.
Honestly I do not know how anyone can ride in the position with the extra weight on the hands and wrists. Not haven ridden in quite a while my hands have been in pain riding the Sportster in the upright position.
Play around with different handlebars. You could try min-ape hangers, or full size ones.
It's all about playing around with different handle bar positions, until you find one that agrees with your wrists.
I changed out the stock bars immediately last Friday as they were to narrow and the pull back caused a weird twist in my wrists. Got the same rise at 8" but 10" wider. A lot more comfortable, just dealing with "clutch hand" at the moment.
By the way I had new tires installed on Monday and what a major difference, the old one must have been flat for 15 years as the thump, thump, thump is totally gone.

Not surprising. New tires will do that, especially if the old ones were as old as you're thinking.

Moving is never fun. That's why we paid some guys to move us this last time. It was totally worth it.
Yeah we have a moving company lined up but the cost for the bike was about the same cost for a trailer so I opted for a trailer.
Just packing boxes for the last few days. Fun fun fun.
