You misinterpreted. I had to be stealthy because I have a lot of traffic in front of the house and the temporary wall I built was not secure. I didn't want the view from the street to let folks know that the house was open and simple to enter by basically kicking a hole in a cardboard wall. Same when I reworked the siding. I didn't want them to know to get in all you had to do was kick a hole in the drywall.

Now I understand, nice work. I’m fortunate that my best friend is a amazing carpenter that does high end work from framing to cabinets even does dry wall, he’s an artist, I’m glad I can repay him with my mechanical and welding abilities, it’s nice helping each other out.

Bit of an update and more to come as soon as I get some pics of the driveway.
Living room is mostly finished. Trying to decide on coffee table styles and sizes.
Mantel is a floating stair tread I ordered prestained and prefinished. I routed out the bottom after scribing it to drop down over the top of the tile. I built a frame for the opening in the tile façade around the fireplace opening. I built a set of screen doors and hung them on the frame. The screen you see is a large opening SS and behind is a high percentage opening small mesh SS screen to prevent embers of most any size from getting through with the most amount of heat transmission.

Finished the wing wall and got the shelf on it.

My wife put a supposedly blue in our bedroom that seems to change from purple to silver depending on what light is contrasting the walls. I went with red rocks orange with a dark brown for my walk through closet/hallway. I like sky blue ceilings, so we all seem to like different things just like different jeep stuff. Blain, I like the red of the Mantle vs the carpet. Tim

Got the hardwood floor in on my wife’s “Art Studio” been a long slow remodel with my ankle surgery, COVID, and the fact that I am only home weekends. A new door, some trim, and tie in to the Saltillo tiles at the threshold, only 18 months later.

I did our last house in hickory, I think that’s why the wife chose it, it definitely has a lot of character. I don’t think my knees could do another flooring job.
