Can I please get some expert advise on a lift on my Jeep. I bought it with 33” tires and want to know just what I am working with.
In reading the forum, it mentioned measuring the coils. My front is 15” top to bottom of the coil with the Jeep sitting on the ground. The back is 10”. Is that a 3” suspension lift?

also, I am not sure if I have a body lift. Can’t post a pic right now but if I look at the body mounts along the drivers side, there is a white colored bushing between the mount and the body that measures maybe 3/4”-1” in height. Is that the stock mount maybe?

sorry I can’t post pics now but hopefully my info can help

thank you!!

SO, I must assume I have a 3" suspension lift. Is there any reason that the transmission skid plate would have a 1"+ spacer on it with only a 3" lift?

I'd be willing to be that the white puck on top of that body mount is a body lift of some sort. I can't see it well enough though, as ^^ said.

You have the TCase drop because the 3" of lift is causing changes in your driveline angle, to correct it they lower the TCase. You can probably remove it if you get a 1" motor mount lift or 1" motor mount spacer. The best way is to get an SYE and DC. I did a lot more than that...I hated that shovel 😉

Yes, you need that transfer case drop, even with a 3" lift.

If you remove it, you'll have vibrations. The only for sure way around this (and the proper way to do it) is adjustable control arms, a SYE, and a double cardan driveshaft.

Here is the pic of that area of the jeep mount -Does it look like a factory size body mount or maybe a bl? The height of the bushing on top of the mount is maybe 3/4"???

Thank you Chris. So... I believe i purchased a 2004 LJ with no bl, a 3" suspension lift(15" springs in front and 10" in rear), a set of Rancho 9000 shocks with the small dial at the bottom of the shock and a t-case drop. I am having to do a lot of re-conditioning on the lower suspension components which are a rusty mess

What I want is to go from where I am now to a set of OME 2" springs, 5000x shocks, a bl and a mml. Would the mml enable me to get rid of that t-case drop? I really hate the look of it. Can I run stock arms and track bars with that set up? Haven't decided to stick with the 33x12.5s or go down to 32" take-offs

Thank you all again for your help!!!

You have an Unlimited, so you have a longer drive shaft than a TJ. I'd be willing to bet that you can dump the t-case drop if you go down to a 2" spring and appropriate shocks. I'd go that route first, then decide if you need a MML/BL.
