Help with possible 2004 LJ purchase

Yeah that appears to be a great price for a good looking jeep. I'd buy it.

I paid more than $12K!!!! But from what I am seeing it's worth it to me. A lot of peace of mind. Others I found with under 100K miles were listed over $16K or if under they looked rough. This one is spotless regarding rust or any signs of mistreatment and engine sounded smooth and tight. Also as others pointed out anything that pops up goes just as fast here.

Where are you in Alabama? Where is the Jeep in GA. @AndyG And @Hog Or myself maybe close enough to help you out.
I am in Birmingham. I am buying it from a guy in Athens, AL who buys and sells Jeeps on the side. Every one he had was very clean. Only buys southern Jeeps. I know I paid extra buying it from him but going after a basically stock, rust free, automatic LJ severely limits your opportunities. Plus, a friend knows him well.

That's Grant Gilbert.... That's where I got my white 03 Rubi

Let me see if I see it on his website.... Most of his don't need even have to be questioned.

As long as the TJ is not heavily modified it's going to be nice.

I don't see an LJ on his website but maybe he's not updated or he's pulled it off the website for you... It's not going to have rust if it comes from him and he tends to stay away from anything that's been butchered up or heavily modded.... My 2003 was by far the most modded one I've ever seen him sell... And I went in there like an idiot and bought it not realizing that it needed everything redone underneath.

He's a fantastic guy...if you go in there check out the white Rubicon at Gary has that works back in the prep shop... It's easily the nicest one in our area... In terms of low mileage and stock condition.

Actually this is Anthony Sutton. He probably saw how will Gilbert's is doing with these up there and started the same. Anthony doesn't have a website. I stumbled on one of them on FB marketplace. I trust him.

LJ no rust! I would buy that all day at 12K. I had the same oil on the engine. Get new PCV gaskets and you will be good to go. I have a stock air box if you are looking for one. I'd be interested in the Spectra on there.
Interesting. Now I am wondering if I should just replace the grommets and hold off on the gasket.

Cool, haven't heard of him, will see what he's got going on.
