Hoist parts?

So after some hostage negotiations with the ex, he got a clock and I got a hoist, which seems to be this: https://www.quadratec.com/search/014\?310
I'm sure what I have is an older model. The only difference in the pic though seems to be that " hole-y" bar is missing; this one seems to attach directly to the eye hook in the bar ( the bar is held together by a frighteningly small set screw, but that's another story). Does anyone have this setup and is it as simple as it looks? No pulleys, just straight up and down?

Looks like it just bolts above the top on a stud,I would have got a hobo freight and built my own.

Nope. Haven't figured out how to wire a solenoid to a two wire winch. I bought the $15 remote. Reminds me to Google a solution.
