How do I get the bump stop to stay in?

Hey all. My drivers rear bump stop keeps falling out. I tried reinstalling it by putting some wood blocks on the spring perch and jacking it up, but that wasn't good enough. Any tips? I think one problem is the spring perch is kind of at an angle to the bump stop when it's jacked up, so it isn't pushed in very straight

I assume the bumpstop your talking about is the stock foam/rubber bumpstop and is in good condition and not deteriorated? Is it an aftermarket bumpstop?

If it is a factory one I’d try spraying some wd-40 on it and the mounting surface and just push it up by hand and it should just slide in. Hope it helps!

The proper way to install additional rear bump stop is to use a spacer bolted in above the jounce bumper cup. Some lifts come with extended rubber bumpers that fit in to the jounce bumper cup. I am guessing this is what you are referencing. If so install a set of appropriately sized spacers and replace the factory jounce bumper.

It’s called a jounce bumper, not bumpstop. If it’s not degraded, take some lithium grease and rub it on the jounce where it slides into the cup. Use a pry bar between the coil springs as leverage to push it in. Done.
