So if it was me and I wanted to run 33s, I would go with a 4" suspension lift and a 1.25" body lift, or you could omit the body lift altogether if you have no plans to tuck the transfer case and underside eventually. But, if you plan to tuck it at some point, you'll want that body lift. Not to mention the body lift does provide the ability for additional up-travel, which isn't a bad thing by any means.
Some might say do a 3" suspension lift and a 1.25" body lift (since you technically only need 4" of lift for 33s), but I would disagree with that only because the lift options for 3" are fewer and far between. You'll find many, many more options for 4" lift springs than you will for 3".
4" of suspension lift is kind of a gold standard for TJs I'd like to think.
