I made two purchases from them recently and received both orders. I received no emails from them at all - nothing acknowledging my purchases.

I have a problem with one order. When I logged into their website last night, it recognizes me with my username at the top of the page. Under my account information, there is the correct email address for sending correspondence. There are no shipping or billing addresses listed under my info. There is no record of my purchases on my account. So I'm not able to initiate a return of product.

I spent an hour on chat with them this morning to get it worked out. No explanation, but they did manage to get my orders to show up on my account. After repeated attempts, they did finally manage to send me my order acknowledgements.

After getting that worked out, I then talked to them about the problem I'm having. On one of the sway bar end links that I purchased (TRQ brand) the bolt broke while being torqued to the specified 35ftlbs. Looks hollow inside the bolt where it broke. Defective I would say.

In order for me to return the product, I'm required to take two photos of the box it came in and one photo of the item/problem and then send them to their return link via email. This is completely unacceptable to me. Just another set of hoops to jump through so I can get a refund on a defective product they sold me.

Terrible website, terrible customer service, difficult to return products.

It's been frustrating dealing with them from start to finish, but more importantly to me, it's just a matter of practicality and how much time it takes me to do business with an incompetent company. I'm going to look for a more competent company to do business with and I would suggest you all do the same.

Hecho en China no doubt.

Probably. But every parts seller has some cheap products for sale.

That's not why I won't do business with Extreme Terrain anymore. It's because of the poor performance of their website and email systems, and also due to their return policy which makes it difficult on the customer to make a return. It's a practical matter, and I think I can do better with another company.

There are clues. On their website, you will note their hours of operation. And that's nice that they give us that info. However, they don't specify whether or not those hours are EST or PST, or something in between. That's just a lack of attention to detail, and I discovered that the same lack of attention to detail is throughout their entire operation.

I got tube fenders from them. They were rusting within a week.

A WEEK.

I bought my Powertrax locker from them. When it didn't fit properly without having to clearance the carrier they offered to take it back or offered me $60 credit. I thought that was fair.

I have learned if I want to get a companies attention I pick up the phone. Relying on a website is hogwash, talk to someone. Then, watch how fast they respond when you have your cc company cancel the order. Suddenly, your contacted by email and phone calls, mission accomplished.

I've never had an issue with ET in the many years I used them. If you want to buy TRQ parts, get them from AM-Autoparts. A 10 year (no hassle) warranty (free shipping too) and you don't need to return the old parts. They'll send a new part out asap or give you an immediate refund.

Fuck Extreme Terrain.

My last and final order with them, they disassembled the item to get it to fit in the shipping box. And all the parts they removed didn't make it back in the box.

Jerked off for 40 minutes in a chat with a foreign gentleman to have the issue unresolved. Submitted a claim, 2 pics of the box it was shipped in, 2 pics of the item, and days later said they couldn't send replacement missing parts, offered $15 to get the missing shit myself somewhere else and submit receipts and shit to be reimbursed, or go through their BS return process for the whole mess.

And the confusion continues. Now they think I want to return the second order of parts that I purchased from them. I never asked for that. There was no discussion about that order at all.

I got an email this morning warning me that if I didn't submit photos of my order by a certain date they could not process the return. So of course I needed to spend more of my time contacting them to find out what's going on. They have spent more time apologizing to me in the last few days then they spent packaging up my orders and sending them to me. If you ask me, that business is in trouble.

Before I place an order at a new website, I first read their return policies. It has saved me several times from onerous return policies.

I never buy from anyone without a "free returns" policy. Warranty issues included. If you buy an alternator (or heavy/large item) online and have to pay return shipping if it fails, you could just buy a replacement for the shipping charges.

Depends on the situation. If I fucked it up, I'll pay for the return. If you fucked it up, you pay for the return. Blanket policies are not something I'm fond of. They are also bad in some cases. Gent bought a bunch of parts, couple of grand worth. A couple of years later his wife got a neighbor to reach out about returning her deceased husband's purchases. We let them and gave her a full refund less what we actually paid for shipping to him. A blanket policy would have prevented that from happening.

You are the only person I would trust 100% for anything you do. You are "one of a kind" when it comes to creating a quality product and standing by them. 🇺🇸 (y)
