Issues with steering box

99 model.....When turning the steering wheel back and forth several inches the shaft is moving before the steering box just fine, but the pitman arm isnt moving. Should I try to adjust the lash setting or just replace the box?

If I replace the box, what are some good options?

IF you decide to adjust the lash just remember... a little goes a long way.
IF you adjust too much; you will increase the wear and decrease the life of the box.

Anyone using the Lares 1353 direct fit reman with any luck? I noticed they also have the 11353 which thier website says has all 100% brand new parts. Then they also have unit 11430 which is listed as a option for a TJ and is all new with heavy duty parts.

Has anyone tried these new units? The 11353 is around $375 and the 11430 around $425.

Anyone using those?

For those prices you could get a Redhead. From my recent searching on here, Redhead seemed like the preferred unit.

Redhead is still just a reman unit. These are 100% new....if they are good quality I'd rather have a new unit vs reman.

I can understand that; however, I would rather have a quality reman than new junk. I'm not saying the Lares is junk, but I wasn't able to find any info on it either way. Although I was in a serious time crunch when I was looking for a box, so I admittedly didn't have enough time to sufficiently research.
