Curious though why you decided to go ARB rear locker and the Powertrax up front? Do you have plans to use the compressor for on board air too? Just seems that an E-locker would have been the easier route to go for the rear.

I am considering that. The reasoning for the powertrax up front is I never drive snow, no matter how much I wish I lived in an area that had it (If it did snow I would just have to rock 2WD I guess). I actually wanted a Detroit in the rear but after riding in my buddies zuki I don't want an auto locker in the rear. I choose the ARB over the E-Locker in the rear because one has been around longer than the other and they are nearly the exact same price. I am still considering the E-Locker but in my local club I like being able to see one in action, lots of guys have Detroits/ARB's, have yet to run into someone with an E-Locker.

Jeep buddy of mine runs an E-locker in the rear of his Dana 35(super35 setup) and has no issues with it. Just thought it would be a little less work plumbing wise, but having the compressor on board for other uses might be beneficial. ARB's are tried and true, unless you bust an air line or have a solenoid go bad.

If my factory Rubicon lockers ever go bad, I plan to replace them with e-lockers. Hopefully that never happens as the stock lockers suit me just fine, but if it ever does...

Will definitely be thinking about the Elocker choice then. I don't really want to use a compressor for tools/tire inflation, I'd rather have a CO2 tank. That is a ways off though, the lunchbox locker is much more short term though, aiming for January for it. If I start driving snow roads, I will just reinstall the spyder gears.

While I am with ya on tools. But electric tools is where its at now. Ratchets and guns.

I’m an E-Locker guy. They are selectable and reliable. I also like the Ox with the manual back up.

4 active members of the forum seem to have a point here, seems I should consider the dark side of things (Elocker). :D

I’ve never run ARBs so I can’t speak against them in any way (nor would I, they are tried and tested). However, I have read a lot (and heard from a lot of people who run e-lockers) from e-locker owners that they are fantastic lockers. I admittedly prefer the simplistic setup of an electronic switch as oppose to relying on an on-board air system. That’s just my opinion though of course.

Simplicity is indeed the big selling point of an e-locker for me. No air lines to route, break, or maintain. No on-board air compressor to maintain, etc. The e-locker just has wiring that goes to a switch. The worst thing that can happen there (aside from destroying your locker, which could happen to ANY locker) is you fry your electronics, but at that point, you've got bigger things to worry about.

Anyways, I totally respect ARB lockers, but for me, it's e-lockers all the way.

Did another thing today! It checked out fine, free spooled easily, and pulled/released cable on command. Really nice unit & gonna look great on my Jeep! If only the iron bowl wasn’t tomorrow I’d be mounting her up then!

The multimount is a great bonus and should be an easy sell locally. Something that was brought up by my family that I have failed to do is re-equip my TJ with a proper set of bumpers. Specifically a rear one, haven’t had one since my Jeep was at stock height. Really been looking at the dirtworx bumpers and am going to get the rear, going to see if he will do a one off for the front because its not speaking to me the same way :D (PS Roberts pricing blows the competition out of the water lol).

Just something to add about lockers. It’s not that difficult to find an air leak on an air line with some soapy water. To me that’s easier than trying to find an electrical problem with wires.

ARB also offers a very simple repair kit.

I’m biased though, since we use ARB lockers in both of our Jeeps.

Well a quick text over to Robert @ Dirtworx and he can do what I want from my front bumper. Looks like I'll be getting those in the semi near future as well ;).
Robert was great to work with when I was researching, then ordering bumpers...he would have built my front bumper any way I might've asked...within reason.

How are you wanting your front bumper configured?
