I just finished two days in the San Juans with my family. We rented a JLUR Xtreme Recon and a Bronco Badlands Sasquatch since we had a group of 14, and the LJ only holds 4.

It wasn’t crowded anywhere we went, and everyone had a great time!

We were around Corkscrew Gulch/Hurricane Pass, which are in the vicinity of the Alpine Loop, as well as Yankee Boy Basin/Imogene Pass

Black Bear is nothing but a steep slope with a bunch of tight switchbacks. Nothing difficult about it other than the mind game for flatlanders.... The only thing I'd add is that the driver needs to pay attention....

I have no idea. The San Juans are definitely more rugged mountain, but that doesn't mean the trails are harder than front range trails. Just sketchier.

I wouldn't call them sketchier, they are mostly just two track trails with no obstacles. Now if people could understand the difference between a hard trail and a trail that has a high consequence if you don't pay attention, then this conversation would be done.
