Colorado Krew Hangout

Does that exist ?

Goodyear seems to have replaced the MTR with the Evolvution MT, but I know nothing about it. The Mickey Thompson Baja Boss MT is the heir apparent, but that resulted from a superficial similarity of the asymmetrical tread patterns. I do not know if the two are truly comparable.

Hey all, have the "whats the best tire" question. Just got back in town last night time to switch focus back on Jeep. My tread is getting thin, I know you guys wheel the same terrain. Been running the Wrangler Duratracs, open to suggestions. What are you running? Who likes what? Not my daily but I drive to the trails. Was reading something in another group about the KO3's

I’m giving the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss MT’s a try this year. Not sure if they’ll be worth a damn but I guess we’ll find out. They’re a lot quieter on the highway than I expected but I don’t have a single mile off-road with them yet so we’ll see.

@inkedrose are you on 17’s? Can’t remember. I know you’ve seen my old tires, they’re the Territory MT’s that come on the Broncos. If you’re wanting to stay with an all terrain tire I really have nothing bad to say about them for what they cost. They are super soft, super light, traction never was a concern, they’re load range C so they air down wonderfully and ride super nice. They’re pretty amazing in the wet and snow as well. My only concern possibly would be sidewalls and they chunk pretty easily. After Spring Creek I noticed a chunk out of one of the sidewalls. Didn’t go all the way through and it isn’t leaking, but it’s definitely a gash. They only make them in a couple sizes but they do have the metric 35 for the 17’s and they’re only $200 a tire. I’m going to put them on the black TJ for my son. Not the sexiest looking tire though if that’s of some importance.

Thanks . MTR seemed to be kinda unique .

I don't know if they have improved things since the KO2s, but I had pretty bad chunking and sidewall rubber coming off pretty quickly. I didn't keep them super long since that was a half step to 35s that I wanted to make quickly after.

yeah I'm on 17's. Looks aren't as important as function. My Duratracs sidewalls are chewed up but never bad enough to cause an issue. Discount tires has that replacement deal I always get just in case

I've watched you walk up stuff I spin on

When you see it happening where it matters, it is amazing how much of a difference tires make. About 6-7 years ago, I happened upon a new set of Patagonias that were attached to wheels I needed at the time. It wasn't long before we all got to see how awful of a tire the Patagonia was. This made all the glowing reviews incredibly irritating because those people are either lying or have no clue what a good tire was. Mine survived a single long summer before they physically wore out and were breaking apart. Then I bought MTRs for the first time.
