Trying to decide if going with lithium rechargeable batteries is a good idea for use on the road with a solar charger? Or if i should stick with nimh's? Also wondering if they are a good idea for around the house?

Ive used rechargeable nimhs for decades around the house.

But I bought a lithium AA battery charger. With 8 bays. And a set of what i thought were 8 rechargeable aa's. For the Jeep. Turns out they were single use.

Now that I'm looking for replacements. I see that they are about $5 each. Not sure i want to spend that much on batteries for around the house. Anyone know of a more economical source?

Also what are the pros and cons of them for use with a solar charger? VS nimh's?

I may stick with these for my Jeep and hunting equipment that take AA's. And that i use my solar charger with. But may go back to nimhs for around the house. We seem to lose alot of these throughout the year. At 5 bucks each i think nimhs would be better for that no?

batteries are one of those things I don't ever buy no-name, because I've always been bitten by crap batteries. That said, Panasonic Eneloop batteries are excellent, and I've never had issues with them. Granted, if you lose them, it doesn't matter how long their charge lasts...

check out https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight for some great advice and a helpful community as you’ll find here. General consensus is Lithium ( not rechargeable) are good for long term storage and harsher conditions, think winter and summer glove box. Nimh (Enloop is the brand everyone knows, but Amazon’s are a close second and best value) are great for around the house.
