LJ rear springs in a TJ

Picked these up a while back thinking they were TJ 3" springs. Just looked up the number and discovered they are 3" LJ springs.

Would they net more than 3" lift on a TJ?
They are probably going to net more on your TJ.
My LJ had a slight sag in the rear because of the 35" spare and the swing out tire carrier. I installed their 4" LJ springs and everything leveled out nice.
A few months down the road I removed my spare and replaced the heavy ass bumper. Now my rear suspension sits about 1.5-2.0 higher in the rear.

I've actually always wondered, where does one measure to determine how much lift springs netted you? Considering differences in tire sizes I mean. Somewhere on the frame to the center of the axle?

Tire size isn’t relevant- it’s just spring bucket to top and comparing those numbers to stock length (12” front and 8” rear iirc).

So how does your TJ look now?

Looks good = no problemo

Looks too high = needs some more equipment, or a full 1/2 keg in the back.
I can always use another keg in the back, but why only half?😆

It does look like it has a bit of a rake now which is why I'm asking. Not sure if it was just in my head or not, hence my asking.

Okay, finally got a sec to throw a tape measure on it. Obviously the rear axle and thus the spring perches are angled because of the pinion angle, but the average is 12" in the rear which looks like 4" of effective lift if 8" is stock. Also, I measured the top of the tire to the bottom of the flares both front and rear. Front has 7" of opening, rear has 8".

So all of that looks like I'm sitting with about an inch higher of rake to the rear, right? Not sure if that's enough to bother most people or not. I have my old OME 2.5" springs still sitting here. I'm considering cleaning and painting those then throwing the rear pair on to bring the back down a little. This would help with my drive angles too, although my shocks are almost perfect 50/50 right now, so that would throw that outta whack a little.
