Hello All!

For my question....my passenger side marker light socket is no good. Got power to it (tested with test light) but won't light bulb. Went by Napa and bought a replacement socket (part EC 230, general Chrysler/Jeep part). The new part doesn't come with any wires, just the socket. It has 3 tabs that will accept a spade connector. But my existing socket only has 2 wires. How do I connect the 2 wires to the 3 prongs of the new socket? Pig tail? Wrong part? Thanks!

Could you post some photos of the old socket / wiring and the new socket?

Yes, will do. Thanks!

* update* even though it said otherwise, this new part won’t fit the opening for this marker light. Will have to return and find a new socket. Will make sure I find one w 2 wires to make things easier. Thanks!

The one they gave you is for the forward facing light that mounts in the fender itself. It sounds like you need the one for the lens that mounts on the side of the flare…

I haven't read this closely, but have a look here and see if it's the same issue. If so, post your pics on that thread and hopefully you and @thedustyboot can find a solution.

@SSTJ @EBSimpson97TJ

That's the exact part the guy at Lordco got me:ROFLMAO: I also have the same socket/issue. They used to work but they're too corroded now.

@MichaelGH That's also the wrong part unfortunately..

On my next days off I'll get around to trimming one of the four tabs from the amazon sockets ( here ) to see if they'll fit.

I’ve ordered this from Amazon and supposed to be here Saturday. From all the reviews I read there, trim the tabs and it’ll work. Appreciate the follow up.

Not sure if this helps, but I had a similar issue replacing the front side makers on my '97. I had to get new sockets to fit the new lamps which were supposed to be for 97-06 (not my '97, I guess). Here's the old and new stuff (both are 2 wire):
