Mid-arm LJ Rubicon

I’m not a fan of the stantion - I replaced mine after all. But, looking at the picture it sure looks to me like that 1.75“ dash bar would provide a good bit of support to the a-pillar during a side load. Although it may be better if it was coming in at a 90.

Anyone have any insight there?

The stars finally aligned and I picked up a Savvy front bumper. Shoutout to @jeffmarion for shipping it!

I wanted a winch gaurd. After many failed attempts trying to get ahold of Savvy, I decided to make my own. Did a quick sketch in solidworks and sent the files to sendcutsend.com to get cut. (Check the soft shackle recovery points. Having a buddy machine them up for me)
I’m happy to get a winch mounted. The awkward space now looks complete. Just need to tear it down for paint.

Those soft shackle recovery points look awesome! Any chance he wants to make a second pair?

Or a third pair?

Hopefully we can get some time on the mill this week to knockout the first set. I’ll post A picture when they are done.
I’ll be sure to let you know, It should be possible since we already have the part drawn and the program ready to go.

Decided to change things up a bit. A few months ago I purchased a PSC hydro assist kit. I’ve been delaying the install until I was ready to begin this project.

Front stretch. Improved track bar geometry for WJ Knuckles, and hydro assist steering.

I wrapped up the front stretch project. I used Barnes4WD JK front coil mounts to make the coils centered on the axle tubes. It took some modifications to the brackets to get them where I wanted. The track bar and drag link are the exact same length, the exact same angle, and very very close to being in line with each other. With the improved geometry and the hydro assist, I’m happy with how the Jeep is handling. Well worth the time and effort to redo the track bar.

The first trip with the new steering was Trail Hero in Sand Hollow. Awesome event for any of those wanting to run guided trails in sand hollow. The PSC hydro assist kit is awesome. Possibly one of my favorite upgrades. My trip was cut short unfortunately. The factory Rubicon rear locker finally gave up the ghost. I opened the diff to metallic soup 😕. The limited slip gears are toast and cracked the carrier.
