Savvy mid-arm vs GenRight mid-arm?

@Chris What did you end up doing with your suspension? Feedback?

Debating whether a mid arm or long arm is the right thing for me.

Under what circumstances would a long arm be the right thing?

I went with the Savvy mid-arm, outboarded the shocks, and went with Fox 2.0 smooth body shocks with a custom tune by @pcoplin.

I don’t know. That is why I am asking. Care to enlighten?

I do know this much, I do not like the characteristics of the stock style short arm suspension under torque or on steep inclines particularly on Slickrock.

I'm not sure there's a time when a bolt-on longarm suspension would be the right thing if you plan to actually do tough trails with it.

I'm going to post this tired old photo again of my previous TJ when it had a longarm suspension. My long arms were constantly hung up on various rocks and other trail obstacles on a trail we were doing when Mrblaine took this photo of my TJ hung up yet again on one of its longarms. Another turned his photo into this time-honored meme.

Long arms talk the talk.webp

What characteristics exactly?
